We just bought a Honda CR-V 2005, not sure of the model but it says "i-CTDi" on the back. This may sound ridiculous, but we do not understand how to move the rear seats forward and backward. When we use the lever under the seat, which is standard for almost all types of cars, we can not get the chairs to move either forward or backward. What could be wrong? We did follow the instructions in the user manual …

Could there be some sort of jamming of the sliding caused by the fold-down mechanism ? I would try to push and pull on the fold-down levers / strap:

If the seats have not been moved back and forward for a long time they will be hard to move. I had this issue. It was almost like the grease on the tracks had gummed up. Once I was able to break mine loose, they loosened up pretty well after a bit of sliding back and forth. The sliding back seats are a very cool feature although I bet most owners forget they are there.
