Is the car in Park?
Yes it is in park.Is the car in Park?
I agree. With a faulty shift button the logic thinks the shifter is not in Park. In that case when the start button is pressed while the engine is running, the engine stops and the power switches to accessory mode. It's acting the same way as if you were constantly holding the silver gear shift button in. My guess is that the gear shift button is broken and there is a small piece of plastic jammed in the handle. It's keeping the rod in the handle from fully extending and releasing the limit switch that tells the system you released the pushbutton
