My friend's CR-V '17, 1.6 Diesel (160PS) Varta battery died after 1.7 years. Is this normal? The car is driven 60km (total) each workday through moderate traffic, and light weekend use. Any similar experiences?
Varta is a rare type of battery in the US, but one with a great reputation for longevity. They were sold under the Bosch name as well here in the US.
Since your CRV is so young, involve the dealership in the cost of replacement as the warranty is still active.
As I said its my friend's CR-V and they have replaced it under warranty.
From my personal expierience my factory Varta died just before the 3rd year and it was replaced by the warranty, the second didn't even last that long... Was replaced by an Exide one (lasted 3 years+) and now I have installed a Yuasa. Time will tell.
From my personal experience German products and longetivity are completely different things...
I have two Honda, a 99 CRV and a 2014 Civic. The battery in the Civic has been replaced now after 5 and half years. That was a good number of years.
It was a Varta and I replaced it with another Varta.
I was considering replacing the incandescent interior lights of my 2019 CRV (Map lights, Center roof and trunk lights) with white LED's .
Could you please help me with the type of bulbs required for each of these lights (T10 etc) , as i could not find it in the manual. Thanks !
I am trying to decide on a new AWD vehicle. CRV is on the list, but I do not like the shifter. I currently drive a VW golf manual, so yes I have to let go of the manual, but I don't like the CRV shifter. I imagine myself shifting it to sport mode and accidentally moving it to low and wrecking...
I have a 17 CR-V Touring. Had the door locking system crash last year. Dealer had to get with the Honda techs to trouble shoot, they replaced the control box with a new updated design (?) took 4 weeks to get it and they also changed front hood latch/lock as both were causing problems? Yes...
When my iPhone 8 is connected using the USB port and I use CarPlay, people I am talking to hear their voices echoed. problem does not occur when I connect using Bluetooth. Is this a known issue? I see nothing on this forum, but found some old comments on an Apple discussion group.
