Hi guys,

I have just completed the DIY project of upgrading my car stereo on my (European) 2008 CR-V.

Parts:
The unit I chose is the brand new (announced Aug 2018) Sony XAV-AX1000 which includes Apple's CarPlay (which was the primary factor for the upgrade).

To install the Sony, I purchased from eBay, the Connects2 CTKHD04 kit, which includes everything: fascia, cabling & steering control http://www.connects2.com/Product/ProductItem/CTKHD04

The rear view camera: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B01LSHNG2C/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Cables to connect the iPhone
a. Angled USB extension cable (you will need this because the 2nd lightning cable is not long enough to reach the cupholders position): https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01M1KKLS7/ref=pe_3187911_189395841_TE_dp_1
b. Lightning cable: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B01MDQL3NT/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Note that I have passed the cable inside CR-V's console and underneath the carpet, so it is completely hidden (note upper left & right photos).

Technical stuff:

CR-V Audio connections Wiring (European models only): https://drive.google.com/open?id=1iS-FMANcdoFCESPk_JbthfKiNjXY-lK5

Subwoofer:
A word of technical caution: my CR-V is the Executive trim level, which has a factory installed subwoofer under the passenger seat (which has its own amplifier). So as to continue using the subwoofer you have to do the following:

From the green plug of the car you have to splice the PINK wire and connect it to the (+) wire of an RCA male plug
From the green plug of the car you have to splice the BLUE wire and connect it to the (-) wire of an RCA male plug
From the 20pin Grey connector of the car you have to splice the RED (B16) wire and connect it to the BLUE/WHITE wire of Sony's ISO connector (or any other system for that matter).

Bluetooth Accessory:
Also note that if your CR-V has Honda’s Bluetooth accessory (located on the driver's A pillar), there is an intermediate harness between the car's harness and the factory head unit. Remove it, it is not needed any more.

Camera:
I have routed the camera RCA & reverse signal cable from the driver's side (LHD) under the door sills and inside the weather sealing of the doors and passed it through the factory pipe that connects the body to the tailgate. Power was taken from the Reverse light from the left tail light (remember its LHD).
The camera is installed in-between the license plate lights by drilling a hole in the plastic in-between the license plate lights and passing its cable through one of the four holes that exist for the four clips (you just have to remove one of them).
Thanks for photos! Looks nice. May I ask you why you've chosen SONY?

Hi again!

so, a few weeks ago, the sound quality on calls starts to decrease until I had no sound at all.
ive reviewed all the connections and can’t find the problem.
143175

Removed all the adapter that I bought and made a direct connection for the sub and amp.
143176
Used a lot of tape to be sure that everything it’s in the place
143177

I’ve also had a low quality in radio signal and to solve that I connect the blue cable of the radio harness to the blue/white cable.
143178

I haven’t connect any of this 3
143179

neither this pink

im going to post a video a little later of the sound.
I don’t know if it is a problem with the radio, the front speakers (tweeters) or the harness/connection. But it looks like when the mute in (from the call or from the voice gps) happens, only the tweeters are working.

Hi, you are definitely having a problem: the front speakers should work as loud as the rear ones including the tweaters. Before messing with wires you should do a factory reset of your head unit. Before the problem started everything else (including the speakers) was working fine?

I’ve already made a factory reset a lot of times .. and I’ve reviewed all the connections. I’m in doubt between a problem with the head unit or the harness. It’s improbable that both tweeters had a problem (i guess).
I’m going to try with another HU and then contact Connect2. Is it possible that the problem could be the amplifier?

regards

Hello again. Good Morning from Portugal. so, i disassembled the radio again and did some tests. I bought a multimeter and apparently I have no signal from the front speakers. I went to test with my ear next to the door and it doesn't work. I hadn't realized it yet! I did the test next to the car's ISO plug, so the problem isnt the radio neither the harness. from what I read, sometimes the speaker cables get rusted and that may be the cause. does anyone know how the links are day tweeters? are they direct on the front speakers? does something I'm thinking about make sense? Anticipated thanks

Hi,
I bought a Junsun V1 PRO (android) radio, I have a Honda CRV 2007 (EU version executive) car. I have a regular radio in my car without navigation and a camera, but I have a subwoofer and an amplifier.
I have 2 questions:
- I would just like to make sure that I understand the wiring diagram correctly so that the amplifier and subwoofer work - in the car I have cubes as in the photo number 1 sent, and the cubes I got with the radio are marked "AMP CONT" and "SUBWOOFER" (photo number 2). Should I connect the cables to the female RCA from the green cube as shown in the attached figure 3? What about pin number 3 from the green cube from the car (GRAY woofer shield) - not needed? And this female RCA connector to connect to the RCA SUBWOOFER from the radio (green RCA)?
Then connect the pin B16 (red) Subwoofer (SW + B) (from Audio Unit Connector B (20P)) with the blue cable "AMP CONT" from the white plug from the Junsun radio?

I also got a rear view camera for the radio
- should the camera connection be as in the attached photo number 4 - that is, the cable marked "1" and "2" should not be connected to anything, and the rest of the cables as shown in the photo?

Regards, Michal

The reverse camera wire to red connector is power for camera from reverse light
The yellow connector is video cable to display (radio)
The red wire (2) is connected to reverse light also and goes hot when in reverse
And this lets the other end of red wire to connected to radio know to display reverse camera
Can not see the labels on the brown back or 1. wire to see where it goes.
Should be marked??
That is all I know about your set up.

Hi, I did exactly your description and unfortunately after connecting I can't hear any difference in the sound whether I have the RCA Subwoofer cable connected or not. The only difference is when I have the power supply connected to the AMP CONT (the cable coming from the radio), after turning off the radio from the bass speaker, there is such a knock - it is probably the sound of the power cut? Should it be like that?
Maybe I should reverse the Woofer + and - to the male RCA that I made myself? Because maybe the female plug on the radio has the opposite plus and minus? How to check? Can I burn something or make a short circuit if I connect it backwards?
Maybe the connection is correct, but I need to activate the subwoofer somehow in my radio (Junsun v1 pro with Android 10). I have tried various settings and options but without success, unless that option is deeply hidden.

OK, today I checked again, with the radio turned on, I plugged in and unplugged the RCA Subwoofer and the bass speaker sounds - not sensationally loud, but it sounds. The difference is somehow not very audible - is it also in your cars? The only thing that worries me is the knock from the bass speaker after turning off the radio and removing the key - I'm pretty sure this is the moment when the current stops flowing to the AMP CONT - is that OK? Previously, there was no such sound on the factory radio. Is that also the case in your cars? Here I uploaded a video with a recording of how it can be heard VID_20210207_154408.mp4

No mine does not do this at all. It could be your stereo... My Sony has a specific setting ON/OFF for the subwoofer.
