Different Firmware Versions

Is anyone here savvy enough to be able to read the firmware version of the ECU/MCU. From reading the various posts, it seems there are several versions in use; Canada, northern US, rest of US, China, EU, etc.
Is it possible to obtain version numbers thru the OBD port or is a special terminal required to hook up to the ECU.

You probably need a Hondata for that. Regular old OBD won't do.

Can an end user purchase a day subscription to i-HDS software is the big question I have.

It seems like you need dealer information to get the download.
Go to the dealer and ask one of the guys to hook it up to the PC and write down the info.
My service guy was pretty good about things, if I had asked him for that kind of info I am pretty sure he would have provided it.

Exactly.
Other factors include (but wait there are more), engine-they have diesels and hybrids elsewhere. They have stick shifts, cvt/9 speed auto, in various fwd and AWD, five and seven seater, no AC, AC version....

Google the country of your choice eg Honda China and poke around the site looking at the differences
