I don't know if this is a 'problem' or not. My CR-V usually stays outside. Yesterday it rained during the day. I did not drive it at all. When I went out this morning to leave, I noticed that all four disc brakes were rusty (light brown). When I was backing up and for a little while longer, they made a small grinding noise until the rust was knocked off from applying the brakes. I guess the brake pads knocked the rust off. When I was done driving and got out, the brakes looked like new (silver and shiney like they should look). Maybe this is normal? Has anyone else experienced this?

That is normal for all cars. That is why the brakes usually squeak at first after being parked for a while.

Just got my V, so I haven't noticed it doing it, but this definitely happens on my Element. 87000 miles on the first set of brakes and going strong.
