Figure I'd do a DIY for unplugging the ANC since people are referring to a youtube link that only showed location of the ANC box.

Here it goes.

Required Tools:
Stubby phillips screwdriver

1: There are 3 screws that hold the glove box to the dash. (Lefty loosey, Righty tightey)

2: Pull the side panel. It is held be 3 clips

3: Slowly pull the dash down

4: When slowly pulling glove box down, you will see the it slip off the rubber cushion. You can put the rubber strip over when you're done.

5: The ANC box can now be seen, as mentioned in the youtube video.

6: Reach behind that grey box and you'll feel a latch to press and unclip the harness

Thats it!

Now time to reverse steps and put it all back together.

7: Snap the glove box back into the 4 clip areas.
8: Run the rubber seal over the glove box.
9: Snap the side glove box trim back on.
10: Screw the 3 screws back on and nomore ANC!

Have a beer. Should take nomore than 5-10 min. I took a lil longer since i had to take pics.

Thanks for the post! It worked, although I had to remove the A5 box, to remove the plug. It was easy as the 2 10mm bolts just needed to be loosen and the box slipped out. The irritating high pitched non-directional tone in now gone.

Method #2 (Less things to remove):

1: Panel under the glove box.

1 clip on each end of the panel and 1 clip in the middle.

Warning: Dont just yank and go ham from the middle or from 1 end. i mean you could but maybe damage things. The trim is plastic afterall.

Up to you how you want to pull down. i would pull 1 end then the other end, first. Then you can slide your fingers to the middle and pop the middle ( #3 ) clip

After the 3 clips are down, pull it diagonally down and towards the seat as there are 2 knobs on the back of panel.

2. Then reach for the plug/clip for A5 while on your back. (sorry for blurry pic but you'll see A5 printed on label clearly)

3. Point the 2 knobs of the panel to the slots and listen to the sound of completion with the 3 clips. ;)

It IS in the DIY section, but if you want, feel free to post a referral post in the 2017 section...
Sweet, will do.

Thanks for sharing!
You're welcome

Nice! I had a faint tone but my music drowned it out, kind of. LOL

So I've got the 2019 CRV and just installed a sub. I'm getting a loud hum on my sub while driving if the volume is low or off. While parked it does not have this issue.
I do believe it's due to the active noise cancellation. So I'm going to try and remove this connector and see if that helps.

I do wonder if this gives some errors in the dash if you disconnect though?
And I'm a little dissapointed that I won't have the ANC features anymore. Have you guys noticed that this module did a lot of good?

I'd like to know the same thing. I want a sub for my ex-l but worried about losing ANC features when on speaker phone.

I believe after removing the connector going to the ANC should fix your hum problem. Let us know how it turns out.

FWIW, on my 2021 Hybrid the ANC box is labeled G5, not A5. It's in the same location and looks identical to what is pictured. Perhaps a different sound cancellation profile for the different engine?

Anyhow, the end result is the same. No more humming/pulsing from the added underseat sub - and overall the music sound is better without the door speakers doing double duty. Cannot perceive any additional cabin noise with the ANC gone.
