In reading the manual for my new 2012 scheduled maintenance, I found it all very confusing. The brochure by the TIRE manufacturer says to rotate the tires every 5000 miles...this sounds about right to me. However the HONDA scheduled maintenance is really weird to me, it says to rotate at 7500 (thats 50% later than the tire mfg says) AND this really is weird, to balance the front tires...not all four...just the fronts. Then it recommends a full additiona 7500 miles (so now we are at 15000 miles) before you rotate again and again balance the front tires. So this set of tires doesn't get balanced until is has 15k on them, while the other set is at 7500. Seems all strange and confusing and contradicts the tire mfg guidance. The balancing is especially strange. Thoughts?

My philosophy is, if you are satisfied with the ride and drive leave the tires alone. In other words, if it is not broke, don 't fix it.
I have always rotated every 5K on all my vehicles. Same for current CRV. Only balance when I suspect a problem.
