It's possible something else might be going on. On my '07, which I just recently got, I cycled through the different setting a couple of times to decide which one I liked best and had no problems. It behaved just as the manual said it would. With one exception. After further testing, I discovered that my right front passenger door's door lock actuator is malfunctioning. Whenever unlocked it immediately relocks itself. I cannot manually then unlock it, have to stand next to that door and jack around with the fob and door handle until I time it right to get the door open. So I ordered a replacement door lock actuator ($65 OEM) and will be installing it this week.
Another possibility I've read about here is that the driver's door lock actuator can start to go bad and cause similar issues. The factory service manual contains a many-paged troubleshooting sequence for narrowing it down.
There is also a control module for all this complexity, and I have read about some instances where it is possible to do a reset that will cause a setting cycle error to reset itself. I'd recommend you get yourself a factory service manual and study up on it. If you take it to the stealership they are highly likely to want to replace a bunch of parts and charge you big bucks completely unnecessarily, when you might just need a reset or one actuator.
Arming yourself with knowledge could save you a bunch of money. You can read the book in front of the fireplace, but you'll have to get cold to do the testing and repair.
