This is my first visit to this forum and I am hoping that someone would be able to advise me with an issue I have with the key fob, key and alarm.

I have a Honda CRV 2008 model. Recently the remote has randomly stopped working, mainly after the car has been locked. I believe that I actually need to replace the battery, but I should be able to unlock the car with the key without the alarm going off persistently. Is there a special way to do this? I know that with some cars you have to turn the key maybe left twice before opening the doors. I'm not sure, but would appreciate anyones advice.

Many thanks.

I've never had to open it without the remote, but I'm thinking that you could open the door, then insert the key in the ignition and turn it on, to kill the alarm. I don't know of a way to disable it otherwise.
