I have a 2014 Honda crv and on the way home from the work, the DPF warning light came with the exclamation mark. Everything I've read online says that it's probably blocked, can anyone recommend what I should do?

Please can you complete your profile so we know your car details.

Is this the 120bhp or 150bhp i-DTEC engine? Manual or Auto? We cant help when we have little/no basic info to go on....

Hello,
Please see the attached pdf pages from the 2014 owner’s manual and an explication of the meaning behind the Honda wording so you can understand what is going on with your CRV.

Low grade diesel fuel and driving style can cause the problem you currently have.

Yes, you could take it directly to local Honda dealer and let them sort out the problem, but if your CRV is out of warranty you could try using an excellent quality DPF fuel cleaner and go for a long drive (say 50 / 80 miles) and maintain a steady 40 / 50 MPH

Is it a manual or auto?

In my experience, I've found manuals to be more troublesome with DPFs.

Depending on how much particulate matter you have ingested in the DPF itself, you could get a non-Honda diesel specialist to regen it for you, but if that still flags up errors, you may well have to fork out for a new DPF.

Failing that, if you arent doing long, high speed journey's, I would urge you to ditch the diesel and go petrol.
