Egr valve

Hi everybody has anyone took their egr valve off to clean it? Just asking is it a hard job or best left to mechanic? Thanks Eddie...I have a 2005 cdti 2.2 exec..if this helps,done 140,000.

Don't think it's a particularly hard job, just awkward because of where all the bolts are.

Are you having issues with the egr itself?

Not really,the same thing happened about 5/6 years ago...the revs just wouldn't go over 2000 rpm no matter how hard i pressed on pedal...leave for 5 mins then it would be normal then,that would happen every couple of weeks,I cleaned with the egr spray last time but my mechanic said its best taking off so I was going to have a go...thanks for reply,might have a go over the weekend👍
That is an indication of an DTC code, the revs not going over 2000rpm is called limp mode.

Hi had a little go of it and my back gave in,so I have booked it in with my mechanic for this Friday,might aswell get it sorted properly since I it is just coming up to 140,00 miles and has served me well thanks again anyways👍
