exterior spare tire mount on 2017

Exterior mounts have been long dead after 2006. And you cannot mount a spare on the hatch of any hatch that opens vertically.

You could if it was a swingout, like on a Jeep. Probably wouldn't be cheap. If it was for trail use it would be easier to just put it on a roof rack.

There are swing-out hitch mounted spare tire carriers. I usually see them on vans (Chevy Express, and the like), but you can probably find one and put it on if you get a tow hitch.

someone posted last year that they could fit a full size spare in the spare compartment in the cargo area.
