Factory radio in 2005 failing?

For the past several weeks, I've had trouble loading CD's into my 2005 CR-V factory stereo system. When I insert the disc, it goes in, but it won't load. The system will then switch over to the FM radio.

In other instances, it will load properly, but then it will stop playing the disc on random tracks and switch back over to the FM radio.

My guess is, the load mechanism is failing. I'm wondering if it's worth it to repair. I still have a cassette deck which I use, so I don't want to replace it completely.

Thanks!

Anything Honda branded is going to be just as old. But worth checking around for. eBay etc
The alternatives will bring you up to date with tech.

Have you tried to clean your CD player? My 2005 CR-V CD changer started having issues too. I inserted a cleaning disc that had a couple little brushes built on the disc. It took a couple attempts to get it to read, but once it did, I didn't have issues with any other CD's.

Unfortunately, the volume knob quit working on it about a year later - it would only adjust from the steering wheel.
