One way to determine the health of your cat/con:

If you have an infrared pyrometer similar to this $25 one

You can measure the engine side of the Cat and compare it to the trailing side.

Here are videos from the stars of YouTube. :LOL:

Google might provide other clues.

+++++++++++

If you don't know if past maintenance has been done on a used car, you should check everything.
Pull a spark plug or two and measure the gap, verify it is at the spec on the emissions sticker under the hood. If the plugs are not the Iridium type, somebody cheaped out...replace them with Denso or NGK brands.

Glad your issue was resolved. 👍

Just for help to others:

If you suspect a starter issue, you can often diagnose it by hammering/pounding on the starter. :giggle:

Easiest to place the end of a stick or broom handle on the starter, then pound on THAT. :pIf the vibration results in the starter working, consider replacement.

Words to live by.

Here are some more:

"I wondered why the baseball was getting bigger. Then it hit me." :ROFLMAO:

I know a guy who's addicted to brake fluid.
He says he can stop any time.
