Gas gage

I have a Honda CRV 2018 Ex. I was wondering if anybody has noticed or has this issue I have noticed that sometimes the range may say I have 96 miles to empty , I drive maybe 10 miles home and the next morning it says 40 miles in range and the gage has dropped a lot more then I thought.

It's an estimate based on parameters that are constantly changing. If you're driving on the highway at 55 mph, a gallon of gas can last 30 something miles. If you're driving around town in stop and go traffic, that distance will be greatly reduced. Basically, don't rely on the computer and fill-up more often. :)
FWIW I have driven 10 & 12 miles past '0' on the highway (boonies and few gas stations).

Did not want to...
Even more exciting is if you have been doing a lot of town work, then go on a long drive. Your range keeps going up!
your foot is off the gas it goes up , if it is on the gas it goes down. Use your Odometer then to trust a computer, I say.

Wait until you find out the halfway mark isn't actually half way till empty.

Or Full varies by +/-1 gallon and empty means you got about a gallon left.
These deliberate offsets may seem weird but they will often times save you from running out of gas.
why wood you want to run down and why not think about your fuel pump and fuel filter as well when you may now be sucking up what you can not see.

Meh in the old days that was a problem but not so much today. The gas is much better filtered from the gas station end and the Tanks and inlets in the cars tank are a lot less prone to sucking up and crap that may get in there.
i remember doing mostly highway - and it said 14 miles left.... (1st time i let it get this low).
filled up the tank, and come to find out I still had over 2 gallons in there before fillup.
i just now do my best to fill up at 1/4 tank.

i know, on most wish lists - a larger fuel tank. :Violin::Violin:
