Full Yakima system with 52” crossbars. 90” skybox for skis. 2” hidden hitch receiver with full tilt bike rack. No regrets. Get inflatable SUPs. You could go wider on the bar but probably max 58”?

Yakima system with 90” skybox and fulltilt bike rack in 2” hidden hitch receiver. This system saves money but also gives wider cross
Bars for additional flexibility / usage. Can use on other vehicles.

I have the Honda rails/crossbars and hitch/harness on my EX. They're both good and I think look better than any aftermarket stuff I looked at before buying. After negotiating on the price of the car I got to a point where they weren't going to come down anymore so I set my sights on playing with the accessories prices. I have the EX so that included needing side rails. I ended up having them install the side rails and bought the honda crossbars online for MUCH less than the dealer was asking and they're easy to install. To me whether to go with aftermarket or Honda was more about aesthetics but if you want maximum width on the cross bars aftermarket has more options.
Are the crossbars easy to take on and off? I don’t like having them on the vehicle when I don’t need them.

Aftermarket hitches are fine but you’ll want to get oem roof rails and crossbars!

The basket I have mounted is quite popular (Here in NC) and should fit your crv just fine!

Depending on what year CRV you have, the factory rails may not be available. No one knows why.

In my opinion, cross bars that bolt to the rail mounts are more solid than those that mount to the rails.

Looks nice. I purchased a Surco safari rack from 4wheelonline. It is only 50" but enough for my needs, and the best part is that it came with crossbars already. My next plan is to add a fairing to reduce wind noise.
