I have just acquired a 2011 2.2 dtec ex which has Bluetooth connectivity with limited compatable phone sets.
Anyone know if there is a fix or update whereby modern phones may use this inbuilt Bluetooth system?

Welcome to the forum! Your 2011 is a Gen 3. Moving to Mobile Electronics for better exposure. Which specific head unit (radio) do you have? Do you have a picture of it?

If you specifically have the Nav unit with screen, then yes, you should have bluetooth. The other OEM radios do not. However, it is possible to add the function via an aftermarket device. I've seen them on Amazon, and there are posts here on them.

You have not identified which head unit you have, or which phone you have. Without that information, it will be difficult to help further. Also, the OEM NAV units frequently do not work with most phones, only a select few phones are compatible with them.
