We are in a pinch and hustling at the worst possible to look at hybrid vehicles, and an EX 2021 Hybrid CRV is available. I am just looking for comments on how satisfied people have been with their hybrid CRV, have you noticed a real savings (I have read that plug-in hybrids offer greater savings), and are you happy with performance? Thanks!

A plug-in hybrid, or PHEV (not currently offered on CR-Vs) allows the user to run on electric power only, for a few miles. So if you do a lot of local trips (and can plug it in between trips) you won't need the ICE motor at ALL.
