Hello all,

Just traded in my fwd 2016 Hrv EX for a 2019 Crv EX AWD Wow.. what an upgrade!
The 1.5L turbo is a peppy little guy

Goes back Monday morning so they can move my hardwired Escort 360 Plat and Blackvue dash cam to the new V.

I had to order a pet ramp for my elderly Chow Chow as the Crv doesnt have (didnt realize the crv didnt have it until I got home) the magic seats in the back. Once he wasnt able to jump in the rear hatch any more he would go in the back door after put the magic seat up. Oh well, got a ramp off Amazon for good price. He likes it already, not there is enough room between the front seats that he can hop in the front seat if I run into the store

Welcome! The HR-V's are nice vehicles and the magic seats are something great for loading.

That stated, the CR-V is a terrific SUV and it has a far superior AWD system to all previous generations of CR-V's (and HR-V's as well).

Have fun!

Kind of a gong show getting the Escort and dashcam moved over. They called me asking where it was in the HRV... I'm like... uh.. hanging from the mirror... couple calls and me getting nervous that someone ripped them off, apparently the tech that did the inspection on the HRV removed them as he saw it on the work order, even though the dealer told me they don't do that there and sub it out. Anyways, everything was found. Install looks good, but looks like they beat the crap out of the Escort 360

Had a VW Tourig (2015?) as a loaner, sure made me confident in my decision to get the CRV

I've had several fun cars over the years.

1980 Chev Malibu, originally with a small 267 V8, ended up with a 383 stroker…
2000 Chrysler Neon, stage 2 SRT4 swap
2003 S2k w/turbo

I've always wanted a Jeep SRT8, I think I'm going to forget that dream and make this a wonderful sleeper.

Welcome to the forum! Nice setup! How do you like the Blackvue? We don't need radar detectors here in Austin, we have the highest speed limits on the continent at 75 to 85 mph, and most of these idiots can't handle that. You really have to watch 'em. I haven't yet chosen a dashcam, but the Blackvue is on the list.

The blackvue is ok, if I was buying again though I'd probably do more research as there are better cameras out there for a much better price

I actually like the concept of the HRV.. it's just that the first generation has some rough spots in the design and compared to a gen5 CRV... it's night and day.

My hope is the gen2 HRV is much more refined and that they also offer it with a peppy hybrid.. becasue I would snap up an HRV as a replacement if they did so.

Time will tell how long it takes Honda to get the HRV up the refinement curve to match their other vehicle models. In any event.. I would buy a Hybrid HRV for my daughter as she heads off to college if they offer one.

I agree with you the HRV is only on its 1st gen. Even the 1st Gen CRV has its rough spots. The 2nd Gen it got really better. A Hybrid version will be good for the HRV. Your daughter would like it as its smaller than the CRV its easier to manouver.

I was happy to get rid of the HRV, even after I first got it the new owner glow quickly subsided.

Wish I would have looked at new dash cams earlier as Honda would have paid the install ;)
I have a bunch of Amazon gift cards and I'm debating about getting the Thinkware Q800Pro as I really like the idea of the parking cam and the Q800 has a built in voltage regulator whereas the Blackvue you need an addon.

In the first 2 years of buying the HRV I had someone hit my front and took a chip out of the grill and someone in my neighborhood rubbed the front fender and scratched the paint. Parking mode most likely would have recorded this.

Edit: ordered the Thinkware F800 Pro 2 channel kit w hardwire kit and a 128GB sd card.

I'm with you on that and will check out that camera. When I got my CR-V last fall, during the very first week I had it, I made my first ever trip to the grocery store. While I was inside, someone, I assume with a large truck and big mirrors, broke my driver side mirror housing. Having had the car for only five days, I was seriously non-plussed! Aargh!

Doing some cleaning today and came across a turbo decal. Removed the honda dealer decals and the turbo decal from the rear windshield.

After having the 19 EX for a couple months now, I must say... I REALLY like this vehicle.
With the Goodyear Weatherready tires it's very stable in winter conditions and quite quiet.

I sold the Blackvue and got a 2channel Thinkware F800, sent off my Escort Max 360 to get calibrated and have a new case installed so it should look like new when I get it back (thinking of selling it and getting the Uniden R7 until the new Radenso comes out next year).

Now I'm just going to get eyebrow tint, sure wish tinting the front doors wasn't illegal here as I'd love to do them as well.

When they slip a bit on the ice they hook up really quickly, this vehicle handles in winter better with the Weatherready's than the HRV did with the Michelin Xi3.

Also did a 200km trip last week and averaged 7.2L/100km (~32.7MPG).
