Good storm going on here but my CRV with it's new Michelin tires is getting me around quite well. However, I am interested in how to trick the sensor that engages the rear wheel drive.

TIA

You cannot trick the sensors easily. And doing so you can damage the drivetrain pretty quickly as it's not designed to be used unless front wheels loose traction. You don't have AWD so this will break trying to lock 4wd on all the time.

Hi,
Not interested in keeping it on all the time, but for instances where I am going up an icy hill, it would be nice to not have the front slipping before the rear assist kicked in.
What year do you have?

2006, so I believe that is a Gen 2.
