Hi guys, im looking to buy a used third gen crv, gasoline and auto, how is the auto gearbox? Is it reliable? I need to tow a 1000kg/2200lb car 4/5 times a year and how about the 4wd sistem?

Thank to everyone

Ciao!

The 3rd generation of CR-V is the only gen. that we have not owned, that said as long as your vehicle has the proper towing rating (here in the US our max is 1,500 lb but the European versions have a much higher rating) you should be good.

Hopefully it has a good service history, change out the transmission fluid and the AWD fluid with Honda fluids (only!) right away if there is no documentation of recent service.

The AWD system is FWD until slippage is sensed then torque is sent to the rear wheels. The system has been used in various Hondas way back to the late 80's so it WORKS.

Welcome!

Thank you very much for the answer, yes the edm version has higher towing ratio:
1500kg/3300 lbs auto
1600kg/3500 lbs manual

Now i know What to check, thanks a Lot!
