howdy all-just joined! After restoring a few vintage mustangs a few years ago and now owning a c5 corvette, i know that forums like these are an absolute must for survival! So, just picked up an 09 v-ex. Ive got 2 teenagers, (the older one in college about an hour away), so with him driving on the freeway to come home, he needed something safer. So, friends of ours asked the wife yesterday if any of our kids needed a car. To make a short story long, she just got a new cr v so needed to sell the older one. Has 230K on it, which on any other car i would not have even considered it-but she had all the maintenance in a folder just like me (anal that way) and had the same local shop do everything according to Honda's maintenance schedule. Car was really dirty, which doesn't bug me at all-gotta see through that-but no dents, dings or huge scratches. Engine bay was filthy which bugged me (coming from show cars, so just my pet peave!) but the car drove awesome. She just wanted to make it go away, so got it for 4. After about 8 hours of detailing today, this is what i have :) Hoping she will last him to 300K as he doesn't drive that much, but i know he will at least be safer for sure. Had lots of civics before, but this is our cr v. Like it so far! Here's to not having to come on here too soon for any troubleshooting, but i think ive got to qualify for the cr v high mileage club

Nice!
Hopefully he has more interest on maintenance than my kids...

Hah! Well, he helped me restore some vintage mustangs so he knows how important caring for your ride is. That being said, i did had to play "Repo Dad" a few times when he was in high school and take the keys. (like, why are there 4 of mom's plates and silverware in the back seat? Go get the shop vac NOW!!!)

It appears to be an LX; it is handsome and well kept. At 230,000 and having been well maintained, you should count on having that CRV for a very long time. I have seen them on this site at close to 400,000. Your son will enjoy the drive. :)

Thanks guys-yes, its an EX. got the moon roof (which in the great PNW will probably be open about 12 times a year if lucky!). My wife and i drove it on about a 2 hour round trip to watch him play tennis for his college team (he forgot his wallet so he couldn't drive!) and we liked it so much we are thinking about selling our 2015 corolla and grabbing a 2016 or 2017 crv. it was SO much quieter than the corolla. First thing my wife says is "wow! can we take this on a road trip to Disneyland next summer!"

That's how I feel when I go from driving my 2014 Civic to driving my wife's 2013 CRV.
