Recently bought one of these cars and after a week the M.I.L. lamp came up on the dash. Tried the 30 second routine. everything was fine for a few days then it came on again. The car drives fine. Can anyone help to solve this problem

You might want to think about purchasing a diagnostic code reader – There are lots on the market to suit individual’s costs. When you have a code reader you will then be able to detail the error codes so people on here can assist you with your problem.

you can buy an OB2 scanner on ebay. A Maxiscan MS 309 it will be the best thing you have ever owned since cars had a diag port in 1996.You can even take it with you when you buy your next car, then you will be ahead of the bloke who sold you
your last car.The scanner will not always be right, but will point you to the right area, you may only need to clean what it says
is producing the fault. The MS309 will even show live data, you would have needed an oscilascpe to do this not long ago.You can get one for £8.99 and even help somebody out with a diagnosis for any car.Good luck.

the MIL lamp according to my crv owners manual is the malfuction indicator lamp.As you have done the clearance proceedure and came back on,it says that you have an emission control system fault. At this point I would put in some Shell
regular diesel this contains more detergent than other fuels,it will help clean the cat and increase your MPG.If it does not go
for the OB2 falt reader.
