I soon will be taking ownership of a new 2017 Touring AWD. If the price is right what is the best deal for Honda Care Service Contracts? I never bought one but if the price is right I might buy one. The dealership hasn't asked me about it yet. What price did you pay if any?

I got the dealer to come down to $1290 after I showed him that price for 96/120. His first offer was $1900, then $1750. They weren't very happy! My purchase was the worst I've ever experienced. But my guess is they are all really into these add-on upgrades.

Most are cancelable within a certain amount of days for full refund and sometimes they haven't processed paperwork yet. Recommend changing your mind the going with Hyannis Honda care.

Meant to add I did this after I purchased the 3rd party contract for Zurich (hadn't done any research) and after looking into it, I cancelled for full money back at dealership and signed up through Hyannis for a must better rate for Honda Care.

Cancellable at anytime. Pro-rated after the first 30 days or so. I thought twice about mine after agreeing to $1,400 for 100K mile coverage. So I advised the dealer I was cancelling and then we settled at $800 for the same coverage.

I think that is the company my dealer was trying to sell. So glad i found these boards before hand. I bought from Saccucci Honda but Hyannis Honda also gets great reviews. My dealer would not sell me HondaCare and the other was pretty expensive.

Can somebody please clarify how Honda Care Extended Warranty works? Are the numbers all AFTER the initial 3 yr/36k miles? For example, If I buy the "84 month/80k miles" honda care for $765 (as noted in the first reply of this thread), does that begin as soon as my original warranty is up? Essentially giving me 10 years/116k miles worth of warranty? This may be a dumb question (since it is called EXTENDED Warranty), but I just want to be 100% sure and I can't find any examples of this documented anywhere on the Saccucci website nor anywhere else. Thanks!

Like the name implies, it just extends the existing warranty out to those number for months/years. As an example, 7 year, 84 month warranty, really just extends your 3 year warranty another 4 years. Or in the case of the powertrain, just another 2 years. Typically, most owners will hit the 80k mile limit before you hit 7 years.

So, looking at it from a milage point of view, the bumper-to-bumper 36,000 mile warranty would be extended to 80,000 miles and the 60,000 mile powertrain warranty would be extended to 80,000 miles.

In my personal experience, owning Honda vehicles for the past 30+ years, there has not been a major repair that I would have had fall under the extended warranty period. So for me, I probably wouldn't get much benefit from paying another $800-$1,000 or so up front.

That is only if you purchase the car from them, not if you are just purchasing the warranty on a car you've already bought.

Oakland Honda INCLUDES a lifetime powertrain warranty, non transferable obviously.

A local dealer where I live offers that as well. Problem is, for me anyway, that it is provided by a third party, not affiliated with Honda. That means you have to research will they be in business, what's their track record in honoring claims, etc., etc. Although supposedly "free," I would rather pay for the HondaCare.
