check for proper voltage at the solenoid terminal when the starter is acting Up. Was anything done before this happened? when you say it does not start does the Engine turn Over or Not? I assume that they did an Onboard test ?
Nothing was done before it just started acting up all of a sudden. When I push brake and push button to start all the internal lights ( meter/media ) and headlights etc turns on the screen syas "push brake and start" ( it means it goes to accessory mode ) but the engine doesnt start. Then after couple of attempts it starts and cars run normal. This happes 1 out of 5 times when I start the car most of the time it starts normally. No they didnt connect computer they have a meter that they connect to battery terminal and run the diagnostics test and it says Starter - Passed, Attenuator - Passed , Battery - Passed.check for proper voltage at the solenoid terminal when the starter is acting Up. If it is bad starter it doesnt start at all ?? my car has intermittent starting problem.More than likely it's a bad starter. A lot of 2015's have had this exact same issue.
Here are some threads that show an intermittent starting issue and a new starter fixed the problem....Nothing was done before it just started acting up all of a sudden. You can't zap a starter, maybe if you were struck by lighting, it's simply a DC motor and a big solenoid. I'm assuming your problem is very intermittent which is why the dealer can't tell you with certainly where the problem is. You can't easily diagnose a problem if the problem isn't occuring. First thing to do is try to isolate the problem a little more. When you start the car in listen carefully at any sounds like a clicking under the hood. This would be the start relay and the solenoid in the starter motor. You probably can't hear the start relay with the hood closed and sitting behind the steering wheel, but you should be able to hear the starter solenoid energize. If you hear the solenoid then your issue is with the starter motor.Hi all. Am new to the forum and have been following discussions concerning starting issues. I have a 2015 CRV-LX with about 70k miles. This past February I started having starting issues - It wouldn't start on first try. I have taken it to 2 shops. Battery is ok, starter is ok, alternator is ok, ignition switch is ok. Cursory electrical check at auto zone came back clean. I don't think it's the neutral switch because today it wouldn't start and I tried it in neutral and nothing. Just had to have it towed. The shops won't look at it again and insist it has something to do with the Honda "electrical computerized system" that only the dealership can fix. Dealership said they had no idea what this is. I was told that if I get a new starter it will only be "zapped" again by this problem. Anyone have any idea what this is? Thanks.
Not enough information to make a determination. Possible issues are battery, alternator, start relay, starter, associated wiring. Now that it won't start, should be easier to troubleshoot. Why those shops do not want to work on your vehicle is that they tried before and didn't get paid. No pay then not interested.Anyone have any idea what this is? Thanks.
