They are certainly bolted, that is very clear in the pictures. The word "Glue, adhesive" is probably a google translate issue by the person that made up the auction. They have no idea they made the Mistake.

I like them, my only reservation is do they create any extra vibrations or noise, do they touch anything in the engine compartment? Is the pressure design well balanced for the Hoods weight?

I hope the OP keeps us informed, it seems like a good addition if it works properly.

What, is everyone too lazy to put the existing strut up? Geez.
No but it's a hell of a lot easier to work on and clean the engine when you have nothing in the middle blocking you.
Also it eliminates any accidental drop down of the hood onto your head or hands, this can happen with the normal rod.

What do you guys think about their stability when compressed in the summer and the engine heat gets to them? Any chance you think they may rupture or put a lot of strain on the bolt down points?

I am really thinking of pulling the trigger on them given the price and the fact that I do not have to drill any holes and introduce permanent marks on the vehicle.

I will let you know. These things are coming on the slow boat from China so I expect it will be nearly a month before they arrive.

I got mine but it had no extras.
You have a sample of each missing part, they sell those kinds of parts at performance centers or you could just try a local garage and the guy might have some lying around.

Thanks for the suggestion robbyg! I went to my local autozone to look for anything similar but that failed. I plan on going to a specialized auto store tomorrow for a better chance. I know shipping from china will be another month so there is gotta be a quicker way to source the missing parts or readapt some mounting hardware from a related type of kit.
If that does not work you can try the more expensive Amazon parts.
I did not measure mine so I have no idea if these would work, but they do sell them in different sizes if you search Amazon.

These are just samples I found in 10 minutes of searching.

Good man robbyg! I was wondering what the name was for the part in the second link. I'll definitely report back on what items were compatibile.
Your welcome, that is what this forum is for so I am glad to help.
Matching the "U NUT CLIP" to the Balls threading is going to be a bit tedious using Amazon unless someone on Amazon sells it as a complete unit. If NAPA really has it, thats the way to go. Plus you can test it and don't have to order a 4 pack ;)

So Napa was a bust. I went and ordered https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076FJXJH5 and https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0040CWYDA. The ball is 10mm and is a 1/2inch so I figure these will probably do the job - fingers crossed!
Yes those should work fine. The only pity is that you had to spent so much money to get them due to the boat load of extras that come in the packs. I would just use all four and ditch the ones from China. The Amazon ball studs look to be of better quality.

Scootaaa, did you buy the exact same kit for your 2014? Installed as shown in the Gen-5 photos, or are there any differences I should be aware of? Care to post a photo? Thanks!

I love the factory hood struts on my Outback, and would consider upgrading the CR-V with this convenience feature.
I think Scootaaa has left the forum. I sent him a PM on Dec 27 and have not heard back from him. His last post is dated Dec 21st.
