So in the modern new car, no way to raise the idle rpm by your self without another person behind the wheel. Unlike old car, we have sort of string to pull to raise the rpm.
If the throttle butterfly is "drive by wire", the throttle pedal inside the car must be pushed to rev the motor. I would think an idle speed increase/decrease (drive by wire) would have to be done via ECU re-programming.
Even before drive by wire CRVs were difficult to rev while under the hood (not able to access cable)
Pretty much all modern cars since about 2007ish are drive by wire. So you need a helper or a proper and expensive scan computer to increase engine rpm while looking at the engine.
