Hi all. I have a kid who has left their headlights on a few times driving to school (no, the incessant beeping didn't clue her in).

I'd like to wire a simple relay so that the headlights go off when the car is turned off. (When the key is not in the "ON" position.)

I found this "project" on a toyo site and it's pretty-much exactly what I want to do. I just need help with pics/descriptions of the analogous wires under the dash of my 2003 CRV. I haven't been able to find any pics and descriptions of the wiring harnesses under there to understand which wires I need to work with. (I'm sorry for the external link, but it's really about perfect in the project sense...just the wrong kind of car!)

Appreciate it if anyone can point me in the right direction!

yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14427 (I can't post an actual link because I'm a newbie to these forums.)

Thanks in advance,
-AJ

get a 4 pin relay

wire one of the smaller pins to ground (control terminal)
wire a power with ignition to the other smaller pin(control terminal)
then cut the head light wire and attach each side to the two larger pins

@downloader: Right. Understand that. Where do I find pics or a diagram/description of which those wires are under the dash?
