Ok, so I got the hub pressed back onto the new bearing using the Harbor Freight bearing press. After I removed the HF tool I noticed that the hub was kind of sloppy. Is this play/slop supposed away once I install the spindle and axle nut and torque it down? Did your hub a have some play in it when you pressed it onto your bearing but before the spindle and nut was installed and torqued?

When I install the spindle and nut and tighten it the slop/play goes away and everything seems ok. Is this normal?

Btw, what should that spindle nut be torqued to?

thanks!

The 36mm axle nut for a 2000 CRV is suppose to be torqued to 181 ft/pounds.

I know tightening that nut sets a bearing preload which stops the bearing from destroying itself, but I don't know about the play.
