Can they damage the window gasket or window motor? I also dislike stick on rain guards for outside installation because of the 3M double sided tape. Do you have any experience with the in channel ones and is it OK with the CRV?
I've had Weathertech window deflectors on my last three CR-Vs - 1999 EX, 2006 EX, and they were one of the first accessories I ordered for my 2014 EX.
I've never had a problem with them, although once they were installed I did not remove them.
And they do allow you to open the windows slightly when it's raining.
But...do not leave your windows open when it snows, as the snow will blow in "under" the deflectors, which makes a mess to clean up.
At night my CR-V is parked outside, so yes.
And at this time of year, mostly yes, and the temps here are still a bit cool.
Once it warms up some I'll be cracking the windows most of the time.
Is your worry that the tape will fail? I had some stick-ons on my S10 P/U that I installed in 2003/04, and they were both firmly in place when I sold it this year.
You can't go wrong with Weathertech's In-channel window deflectors, as they guarantee a precise fit and comfortable ventilation. We sell them for more than 8 years and never really had any issues with this brand.
