This happened to me twice yesterday the info screen is black and shows a message "daLauncher isn't responding". Also say wait or retry. choosing either one just makes the message go away but the system stays black with no message. Later in the day it corrected itself FOR NOW ?? Hope this isn't going to be an ongoing thing !
Anybody else have this happen ??
There is also a video on Youtube with about the same problem but no explanation what was the problem.

Looks like a failure of the Android overlay software.

Try a factory reset of the headunit. If that doesn't fix it then off to the dealer for a software update or headunit replacement.

It did start working again but may happen again. How do you do a Factory Reset of the Head unit ? Will it lose any information doing that ??
THANKS

The good news here is if a Factory reset does not solve this... you have an excellent video to demonstrate to the dealer the problem.

Hey, we shouldn't be telling people to factory reset if they haven't rebooted as the first troubleshooting step.

Your approach will almost definitely work but if a reboot also will you'll save them a lot of time not having to set things up again.

I've replied to no less than 3 threads in the past couple of weeks with instructions on this...

So how is a reboot done, and also a factory reset? Bear in mind that none of the buttons on the display are functioning.

So how is a reboot done
You push and hold down the actual physical power button until the head unit indicates it is rebooting. Takes between 10 and 30 seconds holding the button down.

Simplest way would be to disconnect the battery for 10-15 minutes and then reconnect it again. You will have a light show on your instrument cluster from this, but that will self-clear once all the systems fully reboot and stabilize.

Thanks! I'll try both if necessary.
