I want to install a new head unit in my 2010 CRV LX. I was thinking about buying it from Crutchfield since it seems to come with everything, but I noticed the in-dash receiver kit (faceplate) included with the head unit (http://www.crutchfield.com/S-e1UjiFQzjo7/p_120997873/Honda-CR-V-In-dash-Receiver-Kit.html) has a bad review saying that it does not really fit the CRV too well, and that when you put the temperature control assembly back on, it's too tight.

Anybody else have any comments on this Crutchfield faceplate? Is it even necessary to use it, or could I keep using the OEM one from Honda? Any advice appreciated!

I used the Metra dash kit and think it could be better. Not sure if that is what Crutchfield is going to send you or not. Also probably depend on the head unit you plan to install I guess.

When I have some time, I'm going to see if I can reuse the OEM one.

I heard this one is much better, and if you buy form Amazon you can get the wiring harness and antenna adapter all for about $30 some bucks
