Just informing us of your plans, or are you looking for some information to help you in your quest? :)

Assuming you are looking for information...

1) purchase a OEM jack from your local Honda dealer... thus guaranteed to work with your Honda.
2) any local autoparts store will sell plug kits.
3) you can still use the repair/inflator kit as an inflator.. so no need to carry a separate tire inflator ... just remove the goo cartridge.

You also could consider just buying a compact spare too from your dealer and put that in your cargo area on long road trips when the inflator/repair kit or plug kit won't cut it.. because you are too far from the nearest tire shop.

I bought my 4,000 lb. powerbuilt "unijack" on Amazon, it's a combo jack and stand. It was around $100 I think.

Instead of plugs I bought a spare wheel, which was neither cheap nor easy to find

I saw this:
One of my several hesitations is I don't know for certain the jack would work. I know the OEM jack will, as @williamsji pointed out.
I also don't know how tolerant the AWD system is of a non-identical tire.

But where do you carry it? If inside the cab how do you restrain it?

Check your local wrecking yards for a 2017-2021 CRV with an intact spare, jack and tire iron. Or just order off of eBay

I got this spare tire from this Modern Spare kit few weeks back with the carrying case. I have yet to try this out. :p I’ll put it in the CRV when we are out on road trip from time to time. Really it’s more of mental thing, won’t need to worry about What If’s as this kit is available to swap the tire when situation requires so. This kit has the jack inside the case. Nice package I must say. Thinking about getting that adjustable strap on to secure the spare tire with case against the back seat from cargo area.

You definitely want to restrain it somehow. I once got conked in the head by a VCR in a rollover. Had it been something as heavy as a wheel or a jack...

I have had the compact spare on my prior CRV on the vehicle one time, and that was on the rear drive wheel on an AWD. And it created a lot of road and tire noise and of course drove the TPMS system crazy which means the traction control and AWD was working hard to cope with different wheel spin speeds.

Then again... Honda specifies it for use only at 50 mph or lower, and for no longer than 500 miles. The road noise certainly encourages the driver to get the punctured tire fixed and back on the vehicle ASAP. :)

Heck even the bizarre 7-seat CR-V here doesnt get a spare....
I have heard about the 7 seat CRV option you speak of.

I would NOT want to be one of the 7 sardines packed in that style CRV, most especially the one packed in the very back of the can. :p

Sure it's a roomy cabin, and the vehicle can handle the loading (if not also towing).... but just because you can do something, does not mean you should. :)

I did actually look at the 7-seat model at launch. But when it DIDNT come in the top EX trim, I discounted it immediately.

Thats when I discovered the lack of spare too, so that again was another reason to dispense. And the two rear most seats are only good enough for a Smurf or an ant....
