Hello Everyone,

I just joined the club. I bought myself a 2000 4WD. I bought it at $1900. Upfront the Previous Owner(PO) let me know that it is a salvage and that the ac doesn't work well. It has 152k miles, and 3 pretty new tires, the fourth one probably needs to be replaced soon. Since I bought it, I have noted two things. 1, there's a squeaky sound coming from the drivers side tire and 2, the engine light turned on when I passed 50 miles of driving it myself. As far as the feel, the car doesn't feel to be over working itself, and no leaks. I drove about 8 miles(I work 26 miles away) with it on and when I shut it off, nothing abnormal. No overheating, no grunts or grinds of any kind from the engine. Checking the oil, it looks like its coming due, which I was planning on doing this weekend.
Any ideas of what the light might be due to? I want to attempt to fix it myself if I can and save some money.

You will need to take it to one of the major auto parts stores that offers free "check engine light" scanning. There will give you an error code number that will tell you why the light is on. No one can help you without that number.

The AWD system is suppose to have 4 tires that are the same.

The squeaky sound could be the suspension. If it is one of the ball joints you should get that fixed ASAP before it breaks on you.
