Just put a deposit on '20 hybrid EX-L

Hello all!
Salesman thinks it'll be here in less than a month (I have my doubts!). I know it may be early yet (and I'm brand new), any chance the forum will have a hybrid section?

If the dealer has the actual VIN number, then that means they have been allocated that vehicle in their coming allotment, and generally they cannot take a deposit if they do not have an actual vehicle allocated. So the dealer having the VIN and taking a deposit on that VIN is key.

Given this... generally they receive their deliveries about 2 to 3 weeks after the allocation list is received by the dealer, and they can pre-sell (via deposit holds) to buyers. Deposits are supposed to be refundable as well.

Thank you for this information. I never saw a vin number, and upon checking my paperwork, I realize I didn't get a copy of the 'order'. Just a receipt for the deposit. Interesting. We did give them three color choices, so who knows what they have planned to get a vehicle in (dealer swap or whatever)....it's a Hendrick dealer so they do have a few dealerships to pull from (I imagine - but honestly I don't know how any of that works. It's my first time ordering a vehicle).

Congrats! I too put a deposit down an a Touring CR-V Hybrid. They did not have the entire VIN available when I put my deposit down as it was Saturday and the individual who was in charge of building vehicles into the dealership system was gone. They had the last six and that is all. I ended up not getting mine from that dealer, went back to another dealer that had mistreated us the first time we visited them. They were willing to give us a MUCH better deal in exchange for me taking down my negative review. Saved us several thousand dollars and we didn't have to deal with the person who treated us poorly. It was a hectic process, but I'm happy to have it a little sooner. Really enjoy the new CR-V Hybrid!

For general questions pertaining to the Gen5, don’t forget to search that area too.

I haven’t looked but I can foresee a gas mileage topic being popular for Hybrids. 😄

I'm lovin' mine two weeks in. This little guy kicks a$$ in sport mode, sips gas like a spinster in econ & is just rockin' my little world. (OK, I'm rural & a "lock down" means I can't drive 25 miles to a Walmart store.)

I do think it's hilarious that my gas mizing car has a VIN with the 2-5 letters, "FART." :-D

Still haven't got mine yet. This whole COVID19 mess has delayed it. We also decided to stick to our original color choice, so of course that has not helped (they were trying to pull from existing inventory). We may be waiting for a while until the factory gets cranked up again......but no worries, we're not going anywhere for a while!

Just to put a button on this thread: we finally took delivery of our red crv hybrid! We picked it up late yesterday (6/1). So far so good after 5 miles!
