I have discovered a coolant leak where the water outlet (19315-PR4-A01) bolts to the head on my 01 CRV. I am trying to find out if it gets a gasket or if I need to use gasket maker before take it off so I can have what I need on hand. Honda's parts diagrams do not show a gasket so I'm assuming it is to be a sealant of some sort. I've tried to attach a picture but for some reason I can't. Can someone please give me a confirmation as to what to use? Thanks.

I used Permatex Grey RTV on mine. I believe it is suppose to have HondaBond. I put it together finger tight and then let it set up over night before tightening.

.....and just snug when tightening, don't crank it down hard. When everything else fails, I make my own gasket and spread a thin film of cooling system RTV on the head AND a thin film on the outlet. That way the gasket is "sandwhiched" in between the RTV. Permatex makes a "water pump & thermostat housing" specific RTV.
