I just bought a new 2011 CRV SE and was bummed that there was no voice activated BlueTooth front end for music and making/recieving phone calls. It has a multiple disk CD changer... but all I use is my iPhone.

Any suggestions on what to replace my factory unit with?

We just bought the 2011 EX-L--minus the navigation/blue tooth! Bought the wife a $30 bluetooth headset, and that was that, lol I never use my cell phone driving. She called me today, and it sounded like she was on her cell phone, nope, she was on her Motorola H790. We just leave it in the CRV

I am going to get the Scosche BFHAK unit today. Should have it installed by sometime next week. Will give you updates on it.

Thing looks pretty pimp and runs through your buttons on your steering wheel. Cant believe no one else has one of these installed, as they are $200ish and they are the same as a factory unit...

Here is my thread on what I just did...

http://www.crvownersclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13155

After using the X794 for a week and absolutely loving it, I saw crutchfield had a sale on the X994, which is the same unit, plus built in blue tooth. So they let me swap it out and now I'm running that.

Great unit, blue tooth works great. I just get in the car, dock my droid, and it turns on bluetooth and connects automatically.

The USB cable coming out of the back makes my ipod sound great and I can stream Pandora to it from my phone and that even sounds great.

Are you sure the BFHAK is going to work in the 2011 CRV? Scosche lists it only being compatible with up to 2009. in 2010 Honda changed the head unit design in the CRV. Before I order one I am waiting for a response from Scosche tech support.

I love the BFHAK in my 2011 Civic (been using it for a couple of weeks perfectly) and want to install another one in our CRV as well. Post back if you get it working!

MacGuyver Set Up

Not that it's the most genius of ideas, but so far it's working. I just got a certified 08 and have used an aux cable plugged into the earphone jack on my blackberry and connected to the aux input on the stereo. When my phone rings, I just press the answer key and I hear through my speakers and answer through my speaker phone that is in the cup holder.

The other day my boyfriend remarked that he did not know I was doing that because he heard no difference. He also mentioned that the built-in Bluetooth clarity in his dad's Range Rover doesn't compare to my MacGuyver job.Like I said, it's not genius, but I have yet to find a built-in that sounds as clear as my rinky dink work. :D

Or just get the Pioneer X920BT like I did :) Mine was about $600 installed, but it has GPS, DVD, micro SD, and bluetooth mic w/ sound through the speakers. Everything I need is there and I don't have to attach anything to the window.

I have a 2007 CR-V ZXi (Japan model, in Japan). It has the Japan standard Honda Internavi dash unit, with controls on the wheel, bluetooth hands free phone and a standard RGB Audio/Video jack in the center console. The 2007 nav unit does not have a usb port on the back, as some later units do. I want an integrated solution that will let me listen to audio from my iPhone/kids's iPods in the car, while still using handsfree Bluetooth for phone.

I think I have two options:

Option 1. Hardwired unit like the iSimple Gateway, which will do charging and audio connection. Bluetooth phone connection remains with the standard nav unit.

Questions on 1.
Does the Gateway (or a similar product) provide: Control from the on-wheel controls? Onscreen track/album/artist info? Video output to the screen? Any application level control? Voice control access to Siri? (Yeah, I know the last is a reach...)

Option 2. An add-on Bluetooth solution that will allow control of both phone and audio functions, and integrate with the navigation system with a custom harness.

Questions on 2. Any units that will allow use of on-wheel controls? Will Voice control still work through the nav? Will built in mic still work, or will the built in unit mic alone be usable?

3. Are any other options available to me?

4. Recommended units that fall into the first two categories?

Thanks for your help,
