I filled the washer fluid and noticed that the cap was missing. When I next tried to wash the windows the fluid was empty. Could the missing cap cause this problem? My son put some water in and it all ran out the back bumper, anyone know a cheap quick fix?

Gen2 cars have a multi section washer reservoir. It has always been common for them to leak. Pull the plastic LF fender liner and search for telltale residue. Fish tank sealer will resolve that issue.

That said, a leaky tank won't run out the back. The pump needs to be running for fluid to enter the rear washer system. There is a check valve in the rr cargo area that could have separated.
