Mk 4 Fuel Filter Replacement

Hi guys,

I'm aware the Mk4 Fuel filter is a complete unit tied in with the pump, but I was under the impression that the unit would last as long as the pump does or until you have issues. I am due for a service at Honda, and as part of routine maintenance for the next service they have added a fuel filter to the list at a cost of $250. I have googled around looking for maintenance recommendations and nothing I find for the 2014 cry has a fuel filter replacement, or even strainer clean. Can anyone confirm my suspicions? Am I completely wrong? Does anyone have any better evidence, stating the filter isn't a maintenance item. I am located in Australia so excuse the conversion, but its the 110k service (65k miles)
