Navigation Mod to allow input of address while moving?

I want to change the settings on my CRV so my passenger can input address into navigation system, just like the system on my pilot will allow. My CRV is newer so idk if i could change the os to an older version as found on my 2011 Honda Pilot w/o losing features or functionality. Ideally i could access some type of setting and just turn off that feature. I assume its a safety feature but actually creates a bigger hazard if you use your phone (waze) in place of on board navigation systems which allows you to input data while moving if you are the passenger.
