Hi, we have just bought a second hand CRV 1998 as a reliable vehcile for a lady to learn to drive here in Perth. This CRV has done 175,000Km and the previous owner told me the A/C did not work. Good opertunity to beat down his asking price to $6,000.00. After taking the car to a A/C mechanic and replacement of 1 relay for $150 the A/C is working fine.
So far the car is running good and not noisy at all.
As with all high mileage car there will be problems. Can anyone give advice on good maintenance to prevent major problems??
Thanks guys

Change oil regularly with filter, also the auto oil if you have one. Those sway bar links as they always seem to go and are noisy as hell, plus keep an eye out for belt bearings that tend to go around the 180k to 220k mark. Possibly a new radiator as well as new hoses all around. Another often overlooked thing is flushing out your brake lines as they are rarely done and its so easy to do and cheap at around $10 a bottle of brake fluid.
Dont forget that rear diff oil change :)
