A future welcome is ahead. Its always good to hear from
Manila specially from a "PINOY".

I come from Paranaque soon to be a returning resident and
plans to get my CR-V there in Makati. Any concerns that I
should be aware of would be appreciated. Salamat.:):)

Yes I plan to 'cause customs taxes is too much. Its like
300 % for balikbayans, no exceptions. I've checked with
Honda Phillipines and have all models...........

Oh ok. Goodluck! Try all the branches of the Honda Cars Makati group.. I got my 98 V in Kalookan but I dont know if they will be any better in pricing compared to the others.

Sorry I never really found out about the balikbayans. I know somewhere in the rules that a balikbayan is allowed one vehicle per family, within a certain amount of years. And with that allowance I know the tax shouldn't be too high like their normal taxes which is, like you said, makes the car cost 3 times the original price (like buying 3 of the same car but you only have one in the end) :(

I've learned all these from most balikbayan friends who says
its better to buy it locally than importing. Worst case scenario, when you try to import, and something went wrong
customs will impound the imported vehicle, and cost would quadruple.:eek::eek:

I dont think I would take any chances, specially with the
customs..............I'm sure they're going to look for
a loophole on how they can make money........:eek::eek:
