Could be the coil, igniter or something else with the distributor or could be the timing belt broke.
Pull the distributor cap off and inspect the cap and rotor and also put a 19mm socket through the left front wheel well on to the crankshaft and turn the engine over counter-clockwise (loosen) by hand. See if the distributor is turning. Don't turn the engine over with the starter while the cap is removed or while the spark plugs are unhooked or you can damage the coil. You might be able to look through the oil fill plug with a flashlight and see if the camshafts are turning while someone else cranks the engine if you have the cap on the distributor.
