As Honda has (long since) rolled out the fix(es) for oil dilution, mostly prevalent on early debutant 5th Gen CR-Vs circa 2017/18, the original Master Thread (linked below) has now been retired - in large part since many of the posts, comments and off-topic and ill-informed responses are now no long relevant and comprise misleading and erroneous information which is not helpful to new site members or new Honda CR-V owners.

For newcomers (and of course, existing site members) curious about OD issues - please read this thread here.

We suggest, that if you are intent on reading this thread, that you read the most recent responses which encapsulate the fix, as opposed to the start of the thread when the issue was discovered and speculative comments provided little or no facts - especially from Honda itself.

Therefore be aware that ALL other discussion on oil dilution from hereon in will be removed without notice or warning as this topic has been covered ad-naseum.

Honda has provided a fix for this issue and is well documented. Google it if necessary or speak to your local Honda dealership or Honda USA or whichever country you reside in - details of who to contact can be found below.

If you have a question on the topic, send a direct message to me or another Moderator.

DO NOT start a new thread on Oil Dilution - it will be closed/deleted without notice and sanctions will be applied for failure to adhere to the Site Rules.
