I am at just over 13k miles and just checked the engine air filter and a lot of oil like residue…15k-30k replacement is a big window but not a terrible idea to keep an eye on it

It's not just dust and grit and stuff the filter captures, it also captures free air hydrocarbons from driving on a roadway with other vehicles. Probably will pick up some inside the filter box from the engine perhaps too, but that is a small issue if any issue at all.

Bottom line, the filter is doing it's job, so no worries.

Unless you only drive indoors ( :p ), 15K miles is about average for air filter replacement on Honda motors. A hybrid might be able to go a bit farther since the engine is not always running (hence only pulling in air part time), but I bet most owners are replacing them at 15-20K miles since this hybrid does run the gas engine regularly.
