The mechanic should have checked the condition of the fuse(s) 1st. The ECU will heat up the A/F ratio sensor with the heater built in. I believe there is a timer if it does not see the heater coming on it'll set the code quickly. For the SRS check to see it might just be a matter of reset on the system using a paper clip.
