Do you have any pics of the headlights turned on please?

That will help determine whether they are compliant for MOT rules / HID etc.

Definitely halogen bulbs.

Thanks for adding the pics.

The lights look very dull and yellowy. I suspect the interior lens is what needs cleaning and likely involves opening up the headlight to do that.

The other option is to find some newer headlamps on ebay/breakers yard and swap them out.

Those halogen bulbs can age and yellow all by themselves over time. Just replacing them on mine made a huge difference.

Plastic will Oixidize, also become brittle, do not try gasoline to clean. If you think your Lighting is Dipped/Poor then do some steps
1 change the bulb, not sure the Bulb of the car, look it up in the books in front of you at the auto store, or on-line
2. if the lighting is still dipped/poor after a replacement was in, check the battery, another sign of weak batteries is by the draw.
3. if the housing is the issue you will need to clean the outside first with the correct kits, if the inside is the issue, then by all means replace.

I said my Peace, thank you for listening

Are HID a type of bulb? is so are they available in the uk.
they require transformers and can be a major headache. Check your sockets for burning or melting or corrosion. Check all headlamp connections for corrosion including the relays and fuses.

my first crv had standard bulbs and was awful , if you try upgraded bulbs you will prob be pleasantly surprised . you can get something like 140% or more brighter and was ok for me , my current crv has HID and although super bright are a pain in ass as the auto adjust packs up and have to adjust down so as not to dazzle all other road users
good luck
