Hi all. Newbie here. I have owned my 2007 crv 2.2cdti for 2 years now with 160000 on the clock. Recently it's developed a problem in were changing and dipping the clutch it sometimes doesn't go into gear and I have to double clutch it to get it to go in. When I press the clutch I know it will not go into gear because the pedal feels tight and when I release it it springs up then I know when I dip it again it will go into gear the second time. This doesn't happen all the time but when it does happen it's like it for a full journey. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Have you been replacing the manual transmission fluid periodically? We drain & fill ours every 30K miles as recommended.
Makes a BIG difference in shifting action, believe it or not.
Honda's MTF has specific friction characteristics, best to use that (about 2.2L needed). Some have had good results with GM Synchomesh MTF, don't know which is easier to find on your side of the pond...

If that doesn't work, look into clutch hydraulics. Like brake fluid, Honda recommends replacing BF every 3 years regardless of miles, because it absorbs moisture. And, you ARE in the UK where it is damp!
Thanks guys for your input. When I bought the car I had it fully serviced and had a full service history when I got it. The gear box oil was also done at the time. This was my next move to check the oil level in the gear box but I won't be able to do this till next week. Was just looking to find out other owners opinion as I have asked different mechanics and they are all saying different things. Really appreciate your guys getting back to me. Thanks again
Much was covered already but no one mentioned the final bit, the clutch itself. There is a couple moving parts to compress the clutch plate fingers when you push the pedal down. If any of that isnt moving easily/correctly it would cause the exact problem your having.
Also just because fluid was changed doesnt mean the correct fluid was used, so check into that and make sure it was proper fluid for your transmission
