Does the warning remain until you restart the vehicle? If so, next time if you are somewhere near a dealer, drive over to them and leave the CRV running and let them plug in their computer to verify the problem. I had to do this, photos were worthless to them.

It actually has 10,000 miles that's the trip computer....

As for resetting it appears to be random sometimes within a half an hour and sometimes it takes 2 days.

It is a good idea to drive over there and leave it running and show them.

I guess I was wondering if this is a common problem or is it just relatively rare

No idea if it's rare, happen to me the day after purchasing my 2017. Took it back and there were no error codes set so the dealer said no problem. Next time it happened took photos of it but again no error codes and the dealer said nothing they could do. Happen again, this time drove to the dealer with the warnings active and didn't shut the car off. Tech plug in his computer and found the camera was non responsive and they ordered a new camera.

Take it to a different dealer.

Mine did this after a dead battery (-40 temps this winter), drove it directly back to the dealer and made a point of letting them know that the removable plastic piece in front of the radar was not obstructed.

They claimed they 'recalibrated' it and I haven't had another problem with it since.

Speed limit was 70 so yes I was four over.

And everybody thanks for the ideas I have been thinking about the odbc readers and I was a good excuse to go get one

I would almost guarantee it needs to either be recalibrated or it's a bad camera.

There's been a few reports of both problems on the 5th gen. The dealer should do more than say 'let me know if it comes back' - those are not normal driving errors.

That said, when the battery is dead there's all sorts of errors for about 1 minute after turning on. I'm guessing you were well past that point on the interstate.

If you are going to try and DIY this, make sure you buy an OBD reader that specifically states it'll talk to Honda Sub-Modules. This will probably cost over $100. (Your basic $20-$30 tool is only going to talk to the engine.)

I had a similar problem 10 miles after driving off the lot. Upon arriving home I counted around 9 systems malfunctioning showing warning lights on the dash. It took some time to scroll them all. Restarted several times, problem still there. Oddly, when I started the car the next day it had different warning lights. Around 4 were the same with 3 new warning lights. Dealer service thought it might be the camera malfunctioning and I drove it back and left it for them to figure out. After resetting the computer and multiple test drives they were able to replicate the problem after driving for 15-20 miles. Turned out the problem was a faulty speed sensor. Almost every safety system from cruise control, abs, lane assist, radar, camera, etc. depend on monitoring the speed. Waited a day for the part and the sensor was replaced. It's been 7 months and I haven't had an issue since. So, maybe your problem?

Not sure what all the pictures mean, but twice my 2018 Touring suddenly initiated hard breaking while traveling on highway at posted speed. The first time was a real heart stopping adventure ! Dealer recalibrated system. Hoping this never, ever happens again.
